The Centre for Communications Systems Research (CCSR) is a Research Centre in the Electrical Engineering department of the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences (FEPS) at The University of Surrey, UK. In the previous UK HEFCE Research Assessment Exercises RAE 2001, the EE department has achieved top 5*A rating for its research excellence and in the recent RAE2008 it has been again ranked top among all Universities in the UK. CCSR was also awarded the DTI President’s Prize in Engineering and for collaboration with industry. With around 160 actively researching members, CCSR represents the largest European academic research group in mobile communication systems, networking and services. The centre has wide collaboration with industry both inside and outside the UK. It has also been extensively involved in the definition and execution of EU FP4, 5, 6 and 7 projects in the ICT domain, and has besides providing excellent research results, expertise in the technical lead of smaller to large scale integrated projects.
